Fatty acid compositions of seeds of some proprietary safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) cultivars

Safflower, an important oil plant, has been cultivated for about 3000 years. Due to the fact that it is used as a raw material in many sectors, safflower examined various studies. This study was carried out laboratories of Department Biosystem Engineering and Central Laboratory Application Research Center, Faculty Agriculture, Bingol University between 2020 2021. In study, saturated fat contents seeds four different registered varieties (Balcı, Dinçer, Yektay, Yenice) were determined. It found there 19 components all varieties. Oleic acid (20.03% 34.41%) Linoleic (39.79% 53.70%) be highest rates, some fatty acids detected trace levels.
